So you want to make the type of fancy videos that you see on YouTube all the time,
the ones with multiple angles and incredible production value,
the ones that make you wonder, How am I possibly going to pull this off?
Easy with detail detail is a MECO, except that allows you to set up multiple cameras,
film multiple angles and then edit them in a very easy way.
It is the end to end workflow that you are looking for.
So let me show you how,
for this example I'm going to show you how to film and edit eight tutorial.
But obviously the same steps will apply to whatever video you want to make.
The first step is to set up your cameras,
and the great thing about detail is that you can use
any camera that you have at your disposal for this video.
I'll show you how to set up an iPhone, a Sony camera and a screen recording.
First, we'll set up our iPhone Now, In order to set this up,
we need to open up the detail at both on our computer as well as on our phone.
As long as you're on the same WiFi network,
you should be able to connect automatically.
As you can see, it has now turned into a camera.
So now what we need to do is just put it on a tripod and we're ready to go now.
If you want a more stable connection,
you can use a lightning to USB C cable and just plug it into your iPhone.
Plug it into your computer and you're good to go.
And then for my Sony camera, I'm using a capture card and connect that to my MacBook.
Now, if you want to learn more about how to set this all up,
how to create different scenes, how to add text layers?
We actually made a video about how to set detail up.
We're live streaming and for multi cam like this.
So for that,
I would recommend you to watch that video link will be
in the description in detail before we can start recording.
There's one more thing that we need to do,
and that is check our audio input now to check which microphone we are using.
We can click on this arrow right next to
this microphone and a drop down menu should appear,
and then we can choose which microphone we want to
use now when it comes to filming in detail.
If you want to switch scenes while you're filming,
you can either leave DEET still open,
and you can click on the scenes right here to switch the scenes while you're filming.
Or you can use shortcuts if you want.
In order to use shortcuts and set your own shortcuts,
you can go up here to detail and then check preferences, keyboard shortcuts.
And then, as you can see, you can just record your shortcuts right here.
Now, another thing that you can do is you can use something like stream deck.
But while you're recording,
you actually do not have to switch the scenes because you can do this later.
And this is where the magic happens inside detail, which I will show you in a second.
So now that we're all done and we're ready to go, let's hit the record button.
And now, as you can see down here, you'll see a timeline pop up,
and this is where we'll start editing our video.
After we've recorded,
we will see our recorded video right here now If
you didn't switch between scenes while you were filming,
do not panic.
You did not just film one scene. You actually filmed all of the scenes.
It's just showing that once see that you have selected during your recording.
Now,
if you did switch scenes during the recording that your
timeline will probably look a little bit more like this.
So now let's look at how to edit our video. We scrub through the timeline.
We can see a preview of our edit right here.
Down here, you can see a preview of all of the clips.
As you can see in this space is called a scene draw.
Now let's say that we want to cut from seeing one to seen to.
What we need to do is put our play head right here.
You can either click on it or you can use the arrow keys.
So now let's zoom in a little on our timeline by hitting Command Plus and then
right click and click on split clip Or what you can do if you like shortcuts,
which is something that I, as an editor, always recommend.
Number one tip is learn your shortcuts because it will save you so much time.
What you can do is you can hit X on your keyboard, then,
right Click on this freshly cut clip and then
right click again and click on replace scene.
This this is magic.
So it literally doesn't matter if you accidentally chose the wrong scene,
because all of these scenes have been recorded.
So at any point of time,
you can just cut to any of the other scenes and really polish your video.
So right here, even though you just see one video track.
Actually, all of those other video tracks are below it.
Now, if you want to use a shortcut to replace the scene,
what you can do is hit shift and then the scene
number to replace the scene with the disease fire scene.
If you made a mistake and let's face it, we all make mistakes.
While we are recording our videos,
we can split the clip again and then delete
the clip by hitting command delete on our keyboards.
The best thing about this is that this cut is
now automatically syncs across all of your video layers.
So when you delete a selection from your scene, one,
that selection will be deleted from all of the other video layers,
which means that at all times all of your video layers are perfectly sync Now.
Maybe you didn't make a mistake in your record,
but you actually made a mistake in your edit, and you want to undo that.
Let's say that we have cut our scene and we didn't want to cut our scene right there.
Now to undo this.
What we can do is actually two things we hit command C or command set,
depending on where we're from in the world.
Or you can merge the clips by right clicking and then click on merge clips.
When it's time to export our video, we can choose to export the entire video.
So the entire edit or timeline that we just created
or we can choose to only export a specific clip.
This is great.
If you want to promote the full video on social media, for example,
you want to send people to the full video.
To do this right, click on the clip and then click on export clip.
And if you want to export the entire edit,
then you want to click right here and export your video.
Now, lastly,
if you want to just use all of those multi cam track
so you want to edit it in another video editing programme,
for example, Premiere Pro.
Then you want to watch this video right here.
And, of course, don't forget to subscribe to the channel.
